The University of the Police Brandenburg (Hochschule der Polizei des Landes Brandenburg, HPol) is a state university dedicated to the education and training of police officers in Brandenburg. Established in December 1998, the university is located in Oranienburg and serves as the central institution for the training of all police officers in the state. The modern campus, completed in 2006, includes lecture halls, specialized classrooms, a library, a training police station, shooting ranges, sports facilities, and a traffic practice area. The university offers a three-year Bachelor of Arts program in Police Service, which combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, including a six-month internship divided between the criminal police and the protection police. Additionally, since October 2020, a continuing education Master's program in Criminalistics has been offered to contribute to the professional development of the criminal police. The university also provides training for career advancement to higher ranks within the police service and collaborates with the Berlin Police for certain training programs. The institution is committed to the development of police-related sciences through teaching, study, continuing education, and research.
