The Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) is a research university in Germany. The university was founded in 1978 and in 1982/83 lecturing followed. Around 100 senior lecturers/professors and 1,410 members of staff (802 scientists, including externally funded researchers) work at the TUHH. It is located in Harburg, a district in the south of Hamburg. The founding principles of the TUHH are unique in Germany: research priority, interdisciplinarity, innovation, regionality as well as internationality are obligatory foundations for our actions. The guiding principle of research, teaching and technology transfer is to develop technology for humanity with the strategic mission for 'Engineering to Face Climate Change'.
