About Muthesius University - University of Applied Art and Design Science

The Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design, located in Kiel, Germany, is the only art academy in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Named after architect Hermann Muthesius, the university was founded in 1907 as a municipal crafts and arts school. Over the years, it underwent several transformations, becoming an independent art university in 2005. The university offers a range of Bachelor and Master programs in Fine Arts, Art Education, Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Spatial Strategies. With a student body of approximately 545 and around 218 staff members, including 29 professors, the university emphasizes a blend of traditional and contemporary art and design education. The campus is situated in the Damperhof district of Kiel, providing students with modern facilities and a vibrant artistic community.
