About Leipzig University of Applied Sciences

Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig) is a public university of applied sciences located in Leipzig, Germany. Established in 1992, it combines practice-oriented teaching with application-driven research across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including engineering, economics, social sciences, and culture. The university offers more than 40 degree programs and has approximately 6,600 students enrolled. HTWK Leipzig's origins trace back to institutions such as the Leipzig University of Technology and the Leipzig School of Librarians and Booksellers. The main campus comprises 13 buildings situated along Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, Gustav-Freytag-Straße, Eichendorffstraße, and Kochstraße in Leipzig-Connewitz. Additional facilities include the Wiener-Bau of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Life Science & Engineering research center.
