Kiel University, officially known as Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU), is a public research university located in Kiel, Germany. Founded in 1665 by Duke Christian Albrecht of Holstein-Gottorp, it is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious university in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
