The Internationale Hochschule Liebenzell (IHL), located in Bad Liebenzell in the northern Black Forest, was founded in 2011 and evolved from the Theological Seminary of the Liebenzell Mission. The university offers approximately 300 students education in various fields of Evangelical Theology, Pedagogy, and Social Work through its five Bachelor and Master programs. IHL is a private, state-recognized university under the sponsorship of the Liebenzell Mission. Career opportunities for graduates include working with children, youth, and adults in congregations and missions, as well as in social work and education. The university emphasizes intercultural studies, offering international programs and opportunities for semesters abroad at partner universities worldwide. In 2017, IHL established the Liebenzeller Institute for Mission Studies, Religious Studies, Intercultural and Social Studies (LIMRIS), focusing on intercultural community building and providing scientific support to mission staff and local churches. In 2019, IHL was recognized as the 'Most Popular University in Germany' by the StudyCheck evaluation platform.
