Hochschule Schmalkalden, established in 1991, is a public University of Applied Sciences located in Schmalkalden, Thuringia, Germany. The institution traces its roots back to 1902 with the founding of the 'Königliche Fachschule für Kleineisen- und Stahlwarenindustrie Schmalkalden.' Over the years, it evolved through various forms, including the 'Staatliche Fachschule für Kleineisen- und Stahlwarenindustrie' (1919–1949) and the 'Ingenieurschule für Maschinenbau Schmalkalden' (1950–1990). Today, the university comprises five faculties: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Business and Economics, and Business Law. It offers a range of bachelor's and master's programs, both full-time and part-time, with a strong emphasis on STEM fields. The university is known for its international orientation, maintaining partnerships with approximately 150 institutions worldwide.
