The Heidelberg University of Jewish Studies (Hochschule für Jüdische Studien Heidelberg, HfJS) is a private, state-recognized institution founded in 1979. Supported by the Central Council of Jews in Germany and funded by the German federal government, it collaborates closely with Heidelberg University and welcomes students and scholars of all religious backgrounds. The HfJS offers a wide range of programs in Jewish Studies, including Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. Its curriculum covers sub-disciplines such as history, philosophy, literature, linguistics, art, and religious studies, providing a comprehensive understanding of Jewish life and culture.
