Hagen Correspondence University (Distance Learning University of Hagen), established in 1974, is Germany's only state-funded distance-learning university and the largest in terms of student numbers. It offers flexible degree programs and continuing education options, making higher education accessible to students in various life situations. The university comprises five faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Psychology, Mathematics and Computer Science, Economics and Business Administration, and Law. Its main campus is located in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, with additional study centers across Germany and Europe. The university is dedicated to pioneering new approaches to teaching and learning, as well as conducting a wide range of innovative research. As of the winter semester 2024/2025, the university has 72,458 students, with an average age of 38.3 years, and employs 1,803 staff members, including 100 professors.
